Father Bohdan Danylo appointed Bishop of Parma of the Ukrainians

Bohdan DanyloRome (VIS) - The Holy Father Francis has appointed the Rev. Father Bohdan Danylo as the Bishop of the Eparchy of Saint Josaphat in Parma of the Ukrainians. Bishop-Elect Bohdan is a member of the clergy of the Eparchy of Stamford and the present rector of Saint Basil Seminary.

Bishop-Elect Bohdan was born 27 May 1971 in Giżycko, in the province of Suwalki in Poland. After studying philosophy in Lublin, he moved to the USA, received theological education at the Catholic University of Washington, and was ordained a priest for the Eparchy of Stamford on October 1, 1996.

After a year of service as curate in the parish of St. Michael in Hartford, he was appointed Vice Rector of the Seminary of St. Basil's Cathedral in Stamford. He continued his studies at the Academy of St. Vladimir's Theological Crestwood (NY) and then at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome, where in 2005 he obtained his Licentiate in Theology. He speaks English, Ukrainian, Polish and Russian.

Since 2005 he was appointed Rector of the Seminary of St. Basil's Cathedral in Stamford and is the eparchial vocations director.
