CWN - The bishops of the Maronite Catholic Church have praised the Lebanese army’s efforts to repel the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant after the jihadist group advanced into Lebanon.
The bishops expressed “full confidence” in the army and called upon “friendly states” to offer their support, the Beirut-based Daily Star reported. The prelates also condemned Israeli actions in Gaza and urged the international community to “stop the crimes against humanity” inflicted on Iraq’s Christians.
