Pro-Life Congressmen and Senators Witness Life

Joyful Witnesses from St. Josaphat Seminary in Washington, DC

Washington - CWNews.com - 20090123 - As a large crowd-- estimated in the hundreds of thousands by LifeNews.com, and in the tens of thousands by the Associated Press-- marched in Washington on the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, pro-life congressmen defended the sanctity of unborn human life during speeches in the House of Representatives.

Recalling the “millions of unborn children whose blood has been shed in the abortion mills of America,” Congresswoman Virginia Foxx of North Carolina said, “The pro-life cause has roots deep in the historic battles against all forms of injustice brutality and inequality … Defending the defenseless is one of the most important duties we have as members of Congress.”

Cardinal Justin Rigali of Philadelphia preached to an estimated 16,000 during the National Prayer Vigil for Life the evening before the March.
