Edmonton - 11/19/2007 - The Edmonton Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy is organizing three special events to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Ukrainian Famine or Holodomor.
The first event is a Hunger Banquet to be held Thursday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. at the Youth Unity Centre. The evening meal will consist of plain broth soup and bread.
Father Borys Gudziak, rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, Ukraine, will speak at the event - guiding participants in a reflection on the Ukrainian Famine. Proceeds from the Hunger Banquet will be presented to the Ukrainian Catholic University.
